During the Democratic Caucus, held via zoom, constituents and candidates discussed a variety of local elections on the ballot this election season. Because of redistricting, Gunnison County is now held in its entirety on House District 58 rather than two separate districts. A set of polls were done by party constituents assigning, in total, 16 delegates to candidates. Laura, running uncontested in her primary, said,
“Running for office is an act of hope. It’s a concrete way of saying I believe in you, and I believe in our future.”
In response to Laura’s speech Jim Starr, Gunnison County Democratic Party Chair, said,
“We look forward to working with you and getting you elected.”
